The development of our business areas with respect to the different project sectors will have a wide range of possibilities. However, we will focus on domestic economic fundamentals first and then devote our resources towards contributing to the development of developing country’s export competitive industries. SLIIC Holdings will promote projects in developing countries by sourcing and facilitating of investment by Korean capital and financing, deal structuring, and advising and consulting to Korean companies with the respect to the Project.
We have formed business partnerships with companies in different industries to acquire industry specific capabilities and will act in collaboration with business partners to conduct the Feasibility Checks. To create working synergies between developing countries and South Korea, comprehensive Feasibility Checks of that country’s growth industries must be completed. Following the Feasibility Checks, the experienced and competent Korean companies will be targeted one by one to bring the right business partners to targeted markets.
SLIIC Holdings will act as the single point of contact with respect to the overall project coordinating from the feasibility review of targeted industry sectors. Upon the result of feasibility study, we will set up a project task force team with the local partners, Korean enterprises to build the appropriate project plans with the consultation of our expertise from the advisory group.
SLIIC Holdings will go through the Government Authority’s approvals for project plans and commence the approved project by establishing a local joint-ventures. We shall be responsible for the investment and legal structuring, deal negotiation. Once the deal negotiation is completed, all financial plans, legal and tax review and business plans will be prepared along with the actual investment.
SLIIC Holdings shall manage and supervise the construction of manufacturing plants or infrastructures. After the completion of construction, SLIIC with local Joint Venture Partners shall drive the commencement of manufacturing and production and carry out the monitoring of the operation and maintenance afterward.
SLIIC Holdings is developing a wide business network of affiliates, partner companies and advisory groups so that each proposed project can be successfully executed. SLIIC Holdings will engage the right Korean companies to establish local joint ventures or to participate into the joint venture as technical or operational partners.
The purpose of the Joint Cooperation is to have a business partner in Korea who will provide exclusive right with respect to taking all steps necessary for investing from exploring, supporting and promoting of opportunities.
SLIIC Holdings and the Korean companies have formed alliances and will establish partnerships for investment in our projects. Pursuant to a Joint Cooperation Agreement between SLIIC Holdings and the Korean company or investors, SLIIC Holdings will have exclusive rights to represent them in all phases of the project in front of the government of developing countries. Finally, SLIIC Holdings will centralize and streamline the information received from developing countries, analyze the feasibility check and coordinate the investment strategy most suitable to the Korean investor’s business and investment objectives.
Private Equity Investment
The President of SLIIC Holdings has established GAIA Venture Partners (“GAIA Partners”) in November 2015. GAIA Partners has limited investors primarily comprised of private and public institutional capital sourced from Korea fund of funds, state owned banks and Limited Partners.
SLIIC Holdings and GAIA Partners will jointly arrange private equity investments onto the proficient venture companies with technology in Korea to nurture them as our joint venture partners for our projects and M&A funds investment onto the lagging local businesses that require the financing and management consulting to vitalize their business activities further. We expect to create new jobs and grow their business internationally with the ultimate goal of giving them an opportunity to access the initial public offerings market.
